SoundStudio Southwood is distinguished by its customer-friendly rates. The vision is that use of a professional recording studio should be financially accessible to as many people as possible so that as much musical talent as possible can be captured in a beautiful way.
The rates below are a starting point. It is possible to make a fixed price arrangement for multiple songs or for a larger production, where the number of hours adds up considerably. By the way: proper preparation and information exchange in advance reduces studio time and costs. The studio is happy to provide tips for that.
Base rate for recording/production/mixing:
– For individuals: 35 euros per hour excluding VAT
– For corporate clients: 50 euros per hour excluding VAT
Examples price indication:
– recording and mixing the vocals for one song with a karaoke track will usually come out to 100 euros including VAT.
– recording and mixing one song with only acoustic guitar and vocals will usually come out to 170 euros including VAT.
Mixing music that contains many parts:
Mixing music with many parts/tracks is a complex job that involves much more than just a good volume balance between the parts. To ensure that the whole sounds nice and the song is maximized, many edits must be made to the individual tracks. And before mixing can begin properly at all, the tracks must first be prepared: think of selecting the best parts, correcting disturbing timing errors, correcting any false vocals and creating structure and overview in the project.
Price Indication:
– Mix of a song with about 10-15 tracks: 6 hours / 250 euros including VAT
– Mix of a song with about 20-35 tracks: 10 hours / 400 euros including VAT
Mastering: per song 50 euros including VAT
Group song recording activity: per participant 30 euros including VAT (2-hour session)
Rent as practice space:
– For individuals: 12.50 euros per hour including VAT
– For duos: 25 euros per hour including VAT
– For trios: 30 euros per hour including VAT
– For larger groups: 40 euros per hour including VAT

Paid parking applies at the studio Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. The studio has a permit for visitor parking: provide your license plate number and parking is free.
