From rock to rap AND from classical to electronic
At SoundStudio Southwood, almost anything is possible in terms of sound recording, sound editing and music production. The studio does all styles of music: from rock to rap and from classical to electronic. But also the recording and editing of “functional audio” such as voice overs. See below for more info on the various services.
RECORDING
Professional recording of speech, vocals and musical instruments. With your own instrument or with stuff from the studio. Recordings can also be made at an external location, such as in the case of a choir or a grand piano at home.
PRODUCTION
The studio can help enrich your musical creations by adding additional parts, possibly through the use of session musicians, and with “software instruments” on the computer. The studio can even handle the entire music production for you. Also, the studio can help you write / improve your lyrics.
MIXING & MASTERING
The different parts in a piece of music should sound as good as possible together. This requires good volume and tonal balance, the use of many edits and tasteful application of effects. In mastering, the final touches are done to lift the track to “radio ready” standards. The studio also mixes and masters music recorded/produced elsewhere.
AUDIO EDITING
Post-processing of podcasts, removing noise and other background noise from (old) recordings, remastering, shortening or otherwise cutting up music, correcting timing errors, correcting false vocals, creating karaoke medleys. Anything is possible.
GROUP ACTIVITY SONG RECORDING
Would you like to record a song with a group for a special occasion, such as for a departing colleague, birthday boy or (jubilee) wedding couple? Or as an activity for a children’s party or bachelorette day? Guaranteed to be a fun afternoon with fun results. The studio can provide the karaoke version of any song. Maximum of 12 people at a time.
PRACTICE SPACE
SoundStudio Southwood can also be rented as a practice space by individuals and groups. See rates.

Paid parking applies at the studio Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. The studio has a permit for visitor parking: provide your license plate number and parking is free.
